Mitsubishi Electric out of Cellphone business

Nikkei today is reporting that Mitsubishi’s mobile phone devision is going the end business from today. Mitsubishi will continue supporting its devices and wants to strengthen the partnership with NTT Docomo through the communication related business.

How sad is this, I never had the chance to grab one of Mitsu’s phones to try out. Maybe it is a good time to do so. The D905i from NTT Docomo looks yummie!!Source: Read the whole story

27.6% of japanese cellphone users willing to buy an iPhone

In a poll conducted by Mitsubishi Research Institute and Rakuten Research Inc. 5.2% out of 2200 respondents are very willing to buy an Apple iPhone when it comes available in Japan. 22.4% said, they are somewhat willing to buy. Interesting point here, the iPhone seems already very popular in Japan. There are 11.8% of people that would buy an iPhone even if they have to switch the provider.
