Softbank gets the iPhone

iPhone

So, Softbank the third biggest mobile phone operator besides NTT Docomo and KDDI in Japan signed an agreement with Apple to distribute the iPhone through out the country. As we all might know, Softbank operates solely on a W-CDMA network in Japan, so the iPhone Softbank is going to sell, must be a 3G UMTS/HSPA version. Softbank announced the iPhone to be available later this year.

Softbank’s 707SC and 707SCII

28 Apr. 2007

I researched Samsung’s new mobile handset called the SPH-W2700 (by Anycall a subsidiary of Samsung in South Korea) in which I am in love at the moment. See my previous entry here. Well, after checking with my local importers, no luck yet in brining this handset to my country. Besides that, an interestingly piece of info I got, as I went over to Softbank Mobile’s (formerly Vodafone Japan) official website where they currently promoting it’s new (rebranded) Softbank 707SC (picture 1) and 707SCII (picture 2). Clearly stating this phone is the so called new SPH-W2700 in South Korea. Check the pictures after the break. I couldn’t find more info on this phone nor on the korean version. So comparising these two is not very efficient at the moment.
